Background: Low back pain is one of the most common and most costly musculoskeletal disorders that 80% of people experience at least once in a lifetime. The aim of this research was evaluation of the effects of back school program on back pain and disability in students of Police University with chronic non-specific low back pain. Materials and Methods: Thirty-two male students of Police University with chronic low back pain (mean age: 22.7 ± 1.48 years) participated in this study voluntarily who assigned randomly in two groups of the experimental (n = 16) and the control (n = 16). Back pain intensity and disability level were respectively evaluated by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Questionnaire (ODQ). Independent and pair t-test were used for statistical analysis of data (p < 0.01). Results: The results showed that the back pain intensity and disability level were significantly decreased in the experimental group after the back school program which demonstrates improvement in the mentioned group (p < 0.01). Conclusion: Generally, it can be concluded that back school program is useful and recommended to reduce low back pain and disability in patients with chronic low back pain.
