Aims: Referring to the medical commission is a behavior that is carried out by police officers for various reasons. This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting the referral of the West Tehran Police Command staff to the medical commission.

Instruments & Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in all of West Tehran Police Command staff (118 people) from December 2017 to May 2018. Respecting to the low mass of the community, all those who were willing to cooperate (105 people) entered the study. Four Beck's Anxiety Inventories, Beck's Depression Inventory, Spielberger's Job Stress and Researcher-made Factors Affecting the Referral to the Medical Commission Questionnaire were used for data collection. Logistic regression was used to analyze the factors affecting the referral to the Medical Commission.

Findings: Exercise (p=0.002), family problems (p=0.004), job satisfaction of one's self (p=0.03), drug use (p=0.001), economic problems (p=0.007), comparison with other occupations (p=0.023), meeting the expectations with the good conduct of work (p<0.001), work beyond the limit (p<0.001), type of exemption (p<0.001), grade(p=0.01) and cause of hospitalization (p<0.001) had a significant effect on the referral rate of West Tehran Police Command staff to the medical commission.

Conclusion: Meeting the expectations with the good conduct of work, work beyond the limit and the type of exemption are the referral factors due to psychological reasons and depression and lack of exercise, economic problems, meeting the expectations with good work and degree are the referral factors due to physical reasons to the medical commission.
