Introduction: Death is one of the basic concerns of all religions, including Eastern and Western. All religions seek to make meaningful living by describing and defining the meaning of death and showing it meaningfully. It is reasonable that all religions deal with the issue of death, and here it is specifically the issue of euthanasia or mercy killing. Euthanasia is of particular importance in the field of law-enforcement medicine. Injured guys that appealing for death and the need for ethical decision-making by a rescue worker or physician, as well as the criminal offense of killing, are main examples of the need to pay attention to the phenomenon of euthanasia. The present review article intends to take a comprehensive view of the position of the various alive religions of the world in relation to the phenomenon of euthanasia.

Conclusion: Reviewing the literature and articles related to the positions of different religions in the world regarding the phenomenon of euthanasia or mercy killing, all Eastern and Western religions are against active euthanasia. But passive euthanasia is accepted by almost all religions if it is conditional on certain conditions.
